This Year’s Theme
The Rising Phoenix
Phoenix, the mythological bird that is immortal, symbolizes resilience and the spirit of transformation. Phoenix represents the voice of (1) resilience to embrace one’s true self in an era of globalization, (2) renewal of the education system for the future, and (3) renewal of urban design that prioritizes the well-being of its residents. These three elements ignite the fire of hope, guiding individuals and communities toward their best versions. In the end, after undergoing its many processes of rebirth, the phoenix emerges in its most radiant form—glowing brilliantly, spreading its wings with strength, and soaring boldly into the sky.
Our Journey
TEDxUNS 2023
In 2023, TEDxUNS adopts the theme “Sit, Reflect, and Reconnect,” inspired by the Javanese tea tradition of ngeteh as a practice of self-reflection and appreciation of life’s small moments. Through three sub-themes—Psychology, Technology, and Art—TEDxUNS explores how simple practices can lead to positive change and reconnection with the world.
TEDxUNS 2024
TEDxUNS 2024 carries the theme “Behind the X-ynergy: Uncovering Both Sides,” highlighting the unseen forces behind successful collaborations. The ‘X’ symbolizes the intersection of ideas, people, and disciplines. Covering topics like human empowerment, arts, and green economics, TEDxUNS 2024 explores how synergy drives innovation, progress, and the connections that shape our world.
